Submission of Manuscripts by Authors

Picture Books

Kahel Press is looking for picture books on themes related to disability inclusion and environmental protection. Manuscript proposals must have a maximum of 600 words. 

Interested authors may send the following requirements to us:

Middle Grade Books

Authors may submit manuscript proposals for either chapter books (6,000-15,000 words) or children’s book novels (20,000-50,000).

Interested authors may send the following requirements to us:

• • Sample chapter or complete manuscript.
  • Cover letter (PDF). Mention the wordcount of the complete manuscript and the logline of your proposal. Tell us the story behind the story.
  • Your résumé (PDF)

Submission of Portfolios by Illustrators

Please follow the Kahel Press Facebook page to check for calls for portfolios for current picture book projects.

Interested illustrators may send the following requirements to us:

• • Cover letter (PDF). Tell us why you would like to take on the posted picture book project.
  • Your résumé (PDF)
  • Portfolio of ten (10) of your best works showcasing styles that appeal to children. Works presented can either be digital illustrations, traditional art, or mixed media (PDF)
